Hi there, I'm Alvin.

I’m Alvin Xu, a software engineer at Amazon, and CTO at Launchctrl1 Holdings, where I lead the technology behind a growing portfolio of eCommerce brands.

At Amazon, I work on backend distributed systems that support millions of Prime Video customers — from real-time notification pipelines to GDPR-compliant data deletion workflows. At Launchctrl1, I’ve built and scaled ADAS Depot and several acquired storefronts from the ground up, blending engineering, analytics, and UX to turn niche markets into sustainable businesses.

I studied Computer Science at the University of British Columbia, and I’m now based in London. Outside of work, I enjoy playing squash, mountain biking, photography, and exploring new places.
